MISSION STATEMENT/OBJECTIVES

The ÖVFA's mission is to promote the flow of information between listed companies and investors; to provide analysts, fund managers and other investors with a platform for sharing their experiences; to better acquaint domestic and foreign investors with Austria's role as a financial centre; and to represent the interests of its members to the public at large and within the scope of economic policy initiatives aimed at fostering Austria's financial market.
The ÖVFA activities are concentrated on the following:

  • establishing professional standards in financial analysis,
  • holding regular ÖVFA analyst consultations with listed companies to arrive at standardised historical company ratios,
  • promoting the dialogue between listed companies and investors within the scope of company presentations,
  • promoting Vienna's image as a financial centre,
  • developing company ratios that can be used to reach investment decisions,
  • writing publications of relevance for the capital market,
  • offering a high-quality, internationally recognised training programme for financial analysts, fund managers, portfolio managers and investment advisors,
  • co-operating with the European umbrella organisation (EFFAS) as well as the international organisation ACIIA® and international affiliate organisations
  • assessment of the disclosure policy of listed companies.

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATION/DESIGNATIONS

The mainstay of the ÖVFA education program is the CIIA® designation.
In addition, the ÖVFA also offers regular post-graduate certificate training.
