BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND STAFF

President: Mr. Xavier Adsera Gebelli
General Secretary: Mr. Rafael Sarandeses Astray-Caneda
International Relations: Mr. Gonzalo Milans del Bosch
Secretary: Mrs. Susana Rodriguez

MISSION STATEMENT/ OBJECTIVES

The IEAF's mission is to promote the flow of information between listed companies and investors; to provide analysts, fund managers and other investors with a platform for sharing their experiences; to better acquaint domestic and foreign investors with Spain's role as a financial centre; and to represent the interests of its members to the public at large and within the scope of economic policy initiatives aimed at fostering Spain's financial market

The IEAF activities are concentrated on the following:

Establishing professional standards in financial analysis, holding regular IEAF analyst consultations with listed companies to arrive at standardised historical company ratios, promoting the dialogue between listed companies and investors within the scope of company presentations, bringing together specialists in financial analysis and investment management, facilitating their relations with the companies on which their research is focused, and developing the professional, associative and intellectual ties that must link individuals engaged in these activities both in Spain and in other countries

The IEAF is also very active in raising the standard of training in the field of financial and investment analysis by organising courses, lectures, distributing technical publications and any other activities intended for this purpose. In Spain the Institute runs the training courses that lead to the qualifications of CIIA® (Certified International Investment Analyst, at both Foundation and Final level) and CEFA (Certified European Financial Analyst), and it awards the relevant certificates and diplomas. Besides these two specialised qualifications, the IEAF and FEF [Fundación de Estudios Financieros] Training School offers a comprehensive range of other specialised courses that are connected in one way or another with the world of finance. These include most notably the CIWM (Certified International Wealth Manager) designation.

The IEAF also puts forward proposals to the Government and international organisations and is consulted by them regarding the issues referred above, and serves as a conduit for and publicly express the opinions of its members on such matters and represents financial analysts in dealings with government agencies and institutions, and national and international institutions or associations.

The IEAF takes forward the study of and research into matters that go beyond the ambit of the Association itself, seeking to reach the wider economic and financial civil society through the Fundación de Estudios Financieros of which the Institute is a founder.

Different information sources have been created in order to satisfy the needs of our members. The Information Sheet, which is published monthly, includes all the activities and events organised by the Institute, those organised by other European Associations and any other relevant information related to the world of financial analysts such as recent publications and specialised courses. The second source of information is an Employment Agency, which has covered 98 posts from 1998 to 1999.
