The Ukrainian Society of Financial Analysts - USFA |
The Ukrainian Society of Financial Analysts was established in June 1995 as a non-profit, non-governmental organisation, designed to develop the investment profession. It associates investment professionals of Ukrainian capital market, who are working in banks, investment and insurance companies, pension funds, consulting, audit and law firms; academics including both professors and students; and state employees. The USFA works closely with state institutions, public organisations, financial market participants and self-regulating organisations. In April 1997 the Ukrainian Society of Financial Analysts joined the European Federation of Financial Analysts' Societies.
Since the qualification level of investment professionals is crucial for achieving overall financial market efficiency, the Society's activities are aimed at improving the qualification level of its members, establishing systems of professional growth and continuing education, and implementing new financial-investment technologies. In addition, USFA's aims to implement the Code of Ethics and professional standards and to advocate its members' interests in state institutions in a transparent and competent way. The USFA also cooperates with domestic and international media institutions where its members regularly publish their papers and give interviews.
The new USFA's leadership team, which was elected in 2005, is set to actively promote international cooperation of USFA and enhance the organization's analytical research component, with the prospects of outsourcing of available analytical services for international financial institutions. In particular, we are planning to form temporary working groups to research local equity market, debt instruments, banking, pension funds, asset management and others.
Mission
Since capital market development is seen as a milestone for the Ukrainian economy, the long-term mission of USFA is to facilitate the development of the emerging Ukrainian capital market and its integration into the world capital markets.
